HR 192 seeks to Expand Marine Sanctuaries
Farallones and Cordell Bank Sanctuaries
August 15, 2012
Location:
Washington House Representative Lynn Woolsey (WA) has introduced a bill in congress seeking to expand the Gulf of the Farallones and Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuaries. There is a complete story here about the bill, and what you can do to help. There is also a map showing the areas that would be expanded.
While the current boundaries of the National Marine Sanctuaries do provide some protection, there is still a large part of the vital upwelling system that is not protected within those boundaries.
