Education
The Oceanic Society believes that environmental education is fundamental to accomplishing our mission of protecting and conserving marine wildlife and ecosystems.
PROGRAMS
We sponsor a number of educational programs for the public, students, and teachers including marine biology courses, research expeditions, and classroom programs.
Please contact us with any suggestions, questions, or comments regarding our educational programs.
GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE:
- Collaborating with local grass roots organizations, helping them strengthen their conservation message through environmental education
- Promoting research and education in support of the local community, as well as the global science and conservation communities
- Our on-site field school serves American and Belizean students interested in marine science and environmental studies
- Internships and trainings are offered to local reserve managers and college students
